ETHICAL STANDARDS

We, at UniCorp Biotech are prepared and committed to keep the highest ethical standards beyond Hungarian laws and regulations.

Our company accepts and follows the following ethical codes as an obligatory for all who work for us as an employer or as a vendor:

  • CODE OF ETHICS FOR PHARMACEUTICAL MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
    (version 2017) – a common code of The Hungarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, “Védettség” Association of Vaccines & Immunobiological Product Manufacturers & Distributors and the Hungarian Association of Generic Manufacturers and Distributors
  • European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (EFPIA) European Code of Practice,
  • EFPIA HCP/HCO DISCLOSURE CODE
  • MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice
  • Vendor Code of Conduct by Alexion Pharmaceuticals

UniCorp Biotech Kft also has it’s own written ethical and compliance regulations. Fundamental elements of this code are the followings:

  1. We have a designated Compliance Officer

    b., All ethical or compliance issues can be reported
    c., The compliance officer reports to the owner of UniCorp Biotech Kft
  2. Beside the code we are implementing our ethics and compliance politics in Standard Operational Procedures to comply with all legal requirements that affect the manner in which UniCorp operates, including industry guidelines, laws, regulations, and guidance in each country where we do business.
  3. UniCorp Biotech educates and trains employees and agents at live training sessions in terms of ethics and compliance when entering the company and annually. Annual tests of knowledge are performed. The training materials cover the ethical codes mentioned above, the laws and regulations that affect the way UniCorp conducts business and is customized (and periodically updated) to meet specific regional requirements.
  4. As part of our commitment to behaving ethically, UniCorp requires employees to report any potential violations of law, regulation or company policies to the Compliance Officer. Reporting can be done even anonymously by phone (+36 1 393 5057) or via e-mail: oc@unicorp.hu
  5. To maintain and improve our high levels of ethical standards, UniCorp Biotech Kft has an internal auditing program. This program consists of a variety of monitoring activities in an effort to detect and respond to potential issues of non-compliance. Auditing and monitoring is also important for keeping our polices up-to-date, following the changes of the legal environment (eg. Eu-GDPR new regulations.)
  6. UniCorp Biotech Kft immediately reacts to all violations of its ethical standards. Regardless of how a potential compliance concern is raised, it will be carefully reviewed, thoroughly and thoughtfully investigated in a timely manner, and appropriately resolved.

We run every part of our business with integrity, honesty, and transparency everywhere we operate.

  • We refuse to tolerate bribery or any other form of corruption, even if we lose business. We do not improperly influence the decisions of others or allow ourselves to be improperly influenced, through the exchange of money, favors, or anything else of value. We avoid any activity that could even look like improper influence.
  • We ensure that our personal interests and relationships do not create conflicts of interest or even appear to influence our professional judgment.
  • We respect and protect privacy by collecting, using, retaining, sharing, and/or disclosing personal data fairly, transparently, and securely. We follow the regulations of The General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) (EU) 2016/679
  • We do not allow modern slavery or human trafficking anywhere in our business.
  • We do not allow insider trading.
  • We compete fairly and legally.
  • We follow trade controls requirements.
  • We choose timely transparency about our interactions and payments.
  • We do not facilitate or condone tax evasion.
  • We do not misrepresent who we are.
  • We uphold our standards of integrity in every situation, not allowing, asking, or enabling others to engage in prohibited conduct on our behalf.

We communicate truthfully and responsibly about our business.

  • Our promotional and non-promotional communications and activities are accurate, not misleading, fair, balanced, and supported by scientific evidence.
  • We only promote approved products and only for their approved uses.
  • We educate healthcare professionals on both the risks and the benefits of our products so that they can make the best treatment decision for each patient.
  • We participate in social media and other online communities responsibly.

We maintain robust financial, regulatory, and operational controls.

  • We do not tolerate fraud and will take all reasonable steps to keep from becoming a victim of it.
  • We document our business decisions and supporting rationales truthfully and completely.
  • We use control systems to identify and manage risk and maintain strong performance.
  • We have plans set to maintain critical processes in case of a significant event.
  • We maintain accurate company books and records.

We operate in an environmentally responsible manner.

  • We work to minimize our reliance and impact on natural resources and promote environmental sustainability.
  • We work to minimize the environmental impact of our products from discovery to disposal.
